Knowing Myself in Christ
October 8 - 10
Using the backdrop of the story of the Samaritan woman's encounter with Jesus at the well, the retreat will explore the thirst of all of us "to be known without feeling judged." To know ourselves as we really are, gifted by God, yet sinful, calls forth in us courage and trust.
Lectio Divina will be employed to enter the biblical stories of people who encountered Christ. Like the people in scripture, we are challenged to be vulnerable before Him.
Presenter: Father Henry Shelton, pastor of St. Francis Church, Brookhaven, has conducted many seminars and retreats in Mississippi and surrounding states. Because his responsibilites as pastor do not allow him to be away from his parish on weekends, this retreat begins with 6:30 dinner on Sunday evening and goes through Tuesday.
