Mary Joins SALT AND LIGHT Mission Trip
to Honduras July 16-23
Pictured at the right is Mary with a table of yarn that was donated for women in order to teach them how to knit and crochet. The team traveled to five different villages to work with the women. It is the hope that they will start their own micro-businesses.
The ministry is always in need of yarn, crochet hooks and knitting needles. Notify Mary if you have or know someone who has extra yarn to give.
- December 4-6: Baptist Women
- December 11-12: Advent Overnight
- January 22-23: The Ascent of Mt. Carmel- Father John Bohn
Come to Pray -- On Your Time
We schedule retreats at specific times but we welcome you to come privately for retreat or spiritual direction anytime it is convenient for you and space is available. Three hermitages (small cottages) are available. Just check our website and send in your request.
Consider bringing your prayer group, deacons, parish council or a group of faith-filled friends to experience the peace and renewal that so many individuals experience here. Bring your own director. Tailor the time to fit your need for silence, prayer, sharing and input. Check our website or facebook for options available. Contact us by e-mail or call Sheila Avery, secretary, 662-738-5348 to schedule your time.

New Chapel/Library Windows
No milky or hard to open windows any more!
A worker from Southern Awning is replacing windows in the chapel and the library August 14.
It became possible with a Mission Grant from the Jackson Diocese. Now we can see the beautiful view and enjoy a lower utility bill!
Bug B Gone- Jack is here!
When Jack Huerkamp attacked the bugs attempting to destroy our pecan trees, he brought new life to all of them.
He said the bugs have three families a season. Painting the trees takes care of some of the first infestation. Two others follow. We have not had pecans for three years.
Volunteer of the Month
"Tish" Hudson was a wonderful volunteer during three weeks in July.
She assisted with multiple tasks in the yard, house and, as shown in the photo, helped Sheila in the library. She tackled any task with total abandon!!
Oh, that every volunteer would be so eager!
New Propane Provider
Out with the old, in with the new!
August 12- two employees from Golden Triangle Propane replaced the propane tank near the kitchen as we change over to a new provider. Good stewardship led us to change to the Brooksville company.
Round 'n About
Several retreatants and guests (even salesmen) have remarked how beautiful the grounds are as they have turned up the lane. All those pines and Arbor Day seedlings that we nursed for years are now gorgeous shade trees. The variety of trees and shrubs add an extra beauty, also.
We invite you to come for a visit or retreat. It's worth the trip down the gravel road (the first mile has been re-surfaced)!
You have recently received our SOS letter and will soon be receiving our Annual Appeal.
We so appreciate your response and support. This ministry cannot support itself through retreatants alone. We rely on the Christian community to assist. Any contribution you can give is so appreciated. We are all in this ministry together. Know that you are remembered in our daily prayer.
